Operation Pentagon nets at least 18 arrests in Hampton County HCSO: Since February 2020, more than 388 Hampton County residents have overdosed on heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, or a combination of multiple drugs. At least 15 of those overdoses were fatal.  A county-wide, multi-agency illegal drug sweep has resulted in at least 18 arrests to date in Hampton County this week.  On Friday, July 23, H.C. Sheriff T.C. Smalls announced the results of a four-day, county-wide sweep that targeted illegal drug distribution in Hampton County after more than a year of investigation. “Operation Pentagon” targeted the five major drugs distributed in the county heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and crack cocaine to eradicate the levels of drug infestation that have plagued our streets, communities and neighborhoods, according to a HCSO release.
