Vidant Health’s Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Michael Waldrum has been named as chair-elect of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems of the Association of American Medical Colleges. As chair-elect of COTH, Waldrum will also serve on the AAMC Board of Directors.
More than ever, rural communities in America are in need of a strong advocate to help shape the future of health care delivery by strengthening academic hospitals and health systems. As the leader of a nine-hospital, not-for-profit, rural health system, Waldrum will work to ensure that the unique challenges and opportunities in rural communities are at the forefront of the association’s work.
