Soon after the European Medicines Agency issued a notice that AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine (now known as Vaxzevria) is no longer authorised for use, the pharmaceutical company, citing a surplus of available updated vaccines that target new variants of coronavirus, has decided to withdraw the vaccine globally.
