Auditor General Tim DeFoor vows to deliver on ‘accountability, integrity, and transparency’ Updated Jan 19, 2021; Facebook Share Pennsylvania on Tuesday inaugurated its first person of color to a statewide row office with the swearing-in of Tim DeFoor as the auditor general. DeFoor, 59, took the oath of office administered by Superior Court Judge Carolyn Nichols, the only Black judge currently serving on the state’s appellate courts, before a crowd of nearly 50 people outside King Mansion in downtown Harrisburg in the county where he grew up. In his remarks, DeFoor credited those who paved the way for him to make this mark in state history, men like the late Congressman John Lewis and the late Rev. C.T. Vivian, who championed racial and social justice.
