Share Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State wept as he decried the delisting of the state as an oil-producing state, canvassing that the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, must address the issue. Ayade who betrayed emotion while receiving the National Assembly Joint Committee on Petroleum Industry Bill which was on a tour of the country for stakeholders’ inputs, urged the National Assembly to handle related issues to the bill with circumspection to avoid contentions that could likely trail the ultimate passage of the bill into law. Addressing the committee members led by its Chairman, Senator Sabo Muhammed Nakuda, during a courtesy call at the Governor’s Lodge, Calabar, Governor Ayade said owing to its delicate and controversial nature, “the details of the PIB remains a subject for further analytical dissection.”
