Due to the ongoing pandemic, her memorial funeral arrangements have been postponed until this coming weekend.
Born Mary 24, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of six children and the only daughter to the late Clifford J. and Mildred Shepard Hoats. Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1959 graduating class of the Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and furthered her education toward her vocation in cosmetology.
Following her formal education, she opened Barbara’s Hair Fashions on South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, and operated there and in her home successfully until the family’s relocation to Boyertown in 1982.
