Bates City Man Injured In ATV Rollover A Bates City man was injured in an ATV accident that occurred Tuesday night in Lafayette County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 22-year-old Jacob W. Nagel of Bates City was operating a 2016 Polaris RZR 1000 in a private field at Texas Prairie and Foster College roads at 9:10 p.m., when the vehicle impacted a ditch and overturned, ejecting the driver and entrapping the passenger, 20-year-old Ely J. Hibler of Bates City. Hibler suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment. The Polaris was totaled. Nagel was later arrested at 10:17 p.m. and charged with felony driving while intoxicated involving serious physical injury. He was taken to the Odessa Police Department, where he was booked and released.
