Lets get your take on the diplomatic row between the us and the uk. This has led to the resignation of sir kim. He couldnt remain in thejob. It resignation of sir kim. He couldnt remain in the job. It was unattainable. Given the fact that oui unattainable. Given the fact that our new Prime Minister wind is confirmed, refused to back him, and as the headline says, it basically threw him under the bus as a result of these comments. The fact is that ambassadors are meant to talk openly with their own country, how they view the politics, the relationship between that country and other countries they are stationed in. And so countries they are stationed in. And so kim has been a Civil Servant of 42 years and has an impeccable record. He has been the victim of a sleek and fun thing ive been thinking about is that we have been talking so much in the uk about taking back control, following the post exit to vote and environment, were not listening to the european as much as we would have done ten yea rs as much as we would have done ten years ago but we seem to be taking oui years ago but we seem to be taking our orders from the us. This donald trump saying on twitter, ive a dozen to i would miss him ever again. The uk have said, we better get rid of him as a result. We have not said that. The government is backing him and jeremy hunt so theresa may was saying, he does a good job, he will remain in post, it was his own decision. Because any administration after theresa may which is likely to be led by boris johnson, tended to suggest that his position would be. He was asked six times whether he would back so kim or not and he refused to answer clearly wheres jami had clearly said, yes, absolutely. The worry though, i think, said, yes, absolutely. The worry though, ithink, as said, yes, absolutely. The worry though, i think, as well which hasnt been covered so extensively discussed so extensively, which is what is happening government in terms of these leaks that have been occurring and the other leak was about to vomit. Distract one. Huawei was up you can see what the agenda is. You need to ask your benefits from this. Who benefits from altering the relationship between the uk and the us . Something ive heard from people i know who are fairly senior within Civil Services, it is toxic right now. Working in those areas, and senior Civil Service, they really feel they are walking on actuals. So many reasons. Brexit will be one of them but is fundamentally goes to a. 5 also heard from Civil Service friends and colleagues that it is a com plete friends and colleagues that it is a complete lack of trust between the Political Class in the civil serva nts Political Class in the Civil Servants who are they doing the job, regardless of hugh may be in number ten. Who may be in number ten. The government cant fully function without Civil Service. Thats go to the financial times, it has a story on the front page, but it looks at the reaction to the testimony before congress. There is another day were he has been grilled on all sorts of issues and it is a market moving story. Many are saying, it is a given we will see a rate cut. Is it the 31st ofjuly . By how much . Some are estimating it could be. 5 . Id be surprised if it were that large. The whole conversation around rate cuts, whether starting to see Central Banks having to pull back because of the weakness within the global economy. Whether it is a full 50 basis point cut is the kind of thing i think at the moment would scare people more than can solve them. The reason we are seeing equity move higher is because money is cheaper, people can borrow cheaper, people can put more money into equities because they yield is going to be stronger in their investments or make more money. And President Trump predicted this was not he said, if they cant read, were going to see the dow and everything this many points higher. This is the first time, this is a psychological marker for the market, if the dollar is getting weaker, equities tend to go higher as a result. A cut in Interest Rates doesnt do much. Whether its a start of a planned continuation in Interest Rates, not just start of a planned continuation in Interest Rates, notjust assessment globally, it will continue this. We surprised that his turn given the strength of the jobs report that we had on friday out of the us which was much stronger than most were predicting, showing the Labour Market in the us is really robust. The headline number was good, there area the headline number was good, there are a lot more people, 264,000 jobs added over the course of the month, great number but wages, crucial component, how triple can get, if theyre not getting paid very much, is not combating inflation as it should do. That theyve market is that strong. The New York Times are looking at us beginning an enquiry into the French Digital Services tax. We spoke about this to a great degree on the programme, interested to get your take on this. President trump s wanted to shrink the trade deficit between the us and europe, he wants to get his sights on cars and metal and components and this could really stir the pot. His going to ta ke could really stir the pot. His going to take on wine and cheese on the other things the us of the us has. As retaliation just other things the us of the us has. As retaliationjust in other things the us of the us has. As retaliation just in case francis has to put a revenue tax on people like amazon, apple and facebook and google. I dont think anyone really believes in what is seen earlier working at facebook, that tech firms should be paying more money. There are few people out there who would volunteer to more tax. However, we have seen things in San Francisco for example that in that it was put on tech firms to try and fund and combat homelessness, whether we see the tech giants realise that the abolition of the state on the 21st century, how would pay for basic public services, means that companies adduced around the world, the oil companies, the car copies, large wave Action Companies are taxed appropriately and these new companies are running the world would have to be as well. Do you think a lot about what you are drinking and eating in terms of cancer, edges of health, in terms of its of research that we get to show occur, lead to cancer late in life . Looking at the stage of me, im not wa nt to looking at the stage of me, im not want to give dieting advice but personally im not a fan of fruit juices, freshly squeezed. Do you squeeze your oranges at home in the morning . Even the sugar and that, it is not just about morning . Even the sugar and that, it is notjust about diet, soft drinks, which are good because no genic, fa ke which are good because no genic, fake sugar. These new sugars which are called this newjuices which are called this newjuices which are coldpressed are meant to be healthier but in the grand scheme of things in the amount of sugar within these uses is continuing to add to these uses is continuing to add to the cancerous risk, im not a doctor but it seems that life causes cancer. Fridges might be another thing that does as well. Many of us are with you. I only drink sugary drink from their offer to me, tune, we are not available, he gets a sugary drink. If we believe all the research will not eat anything within itself is unhealthy. Genova, would you go there for a holiday . Destruction i will. Walking around the side of our worst nuclear accident. In europe. Chernobyl. We look around recruitments, we look around engine rooms everywhere, why not chernobyl . Why not . I stab you with us. Thank you for your comments, have a good day and i will see you soon. Well, its been a very humid couple of days across many parts of the uk. Temperatures have got up to 27 degrees. Some of that humidity is also going to spark off a few thunderstorms. Certainly across northern and eastern parts of the country on thursday. Not everybody is going to get them though. This is what it looks like through the early hours. So already some showers dotted around across the uk. The south is largely dry early in the morning. And very warm 15 16 degrees after dawn, just in the north west there, maybe around 12 degrees in stornoway. Now, low pressure is crossing the country on thursday. Thats going to spark off some of those thunderstorms. Once again across scotland and eastern parts of the uk. So further south it is looking dry. The weather is looking absolutely fine for wimbledon. Partly cloudy skies. Temperatures around the mid 20s and light winds. But still quite humid. So the forecast for the morning, showers possible almost anywhere across central, northern england, scotland, maybe one or two in northern ireland. But it is later on from lincolnshire, the eastern counties, and also eastern scotland where we will see the heaviest of the showers brewing. Now, 20 degrees in the north. In the south, around 25 or 26. So still another warm, humid day. Lets zoom into eastern scotland. These showers will continue to move across scotland into the evening hours and, again, thunderstorms possible almost anywhere from yorkshire northwards. Thursday night into friday, that low pressure pushes away. This High Pressure is trying to build in that will help improve the weather as we head into the weekend. Here is fridays weather forecast. There is going to be a shift in the wind direction, its going to be coming more from the north west. So it will put away some of that humidity. Temperatures will drop a touch as well. On friday, again, further showers are possible in some eastern areas of the uk. Temperatures typically around the low 20s, maybe touching 23, 24 degrees in southern parts of the uk. So thats friday. Lets have a look at saturday now. The winds mostly in from the north. So feeling a little bit fresher, i think, across the majority of the uk. It will cloud over at times. There is the chance of one or two showers, but on the whole it is a dry saturday for most of us. Not a bad one. Quite a bright one. Temperatures typically 21 22 degrees. Sunday looks fairly similar as well. In cardiff, 24, light winds, really a very pleasant saturday and sunday on the way. Bye bye. Good morning.
