The hearing is due to take place this morning. The man, known as soldier f, faces prosecution in relation to the events in which 13 people were killed. He is accused of two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder. Heres our ireland correspondent, chris page. The 13th of january, 1972, has become known as bloody sunday. The parachute regiment shot dead 13 people at a civil rights demonstration in the bogside area of derry. In march this year, more than a. 5 decades later, prosecutors announced they plan to begin criminal proceedings against a former paratrooper. Soldier f is accused of murdering james wray, who was 22, and 27 year old william mckinney. He will also be prosecuted on five counts of attempted murder. The hearing at Londonderry Magistrates Court this morning is expected to be short. Soldier f is in his 60s, it is understood he will be represented by his legal team and will not be appearing in person. It is believed the Court Process could last many months, maybe several years. Chris page, bbc news, derry. After an historic day at the Supreme Court, legal arguments over Boris Johnsons decision to suspend parliament will continue for a second day today. Critics say the Prime Minister was trying to stop scrutiny from mps in the run up to brexit on 31st october. Were joined now by our legal correspondent, clive coleman. Clive, lots of legal arguments heard yesterday from both different sides, what will happen today . Well, more of it and quite similar stuff. Yesterday we heard these appeals from both parties. Today we will hear from the parties that won the original cases and are responding. We will hear from lawyers representing joanna cherry, the snp mp and 70 other parliamentarians who won that case in scotland when it was ruled that prorogation was a matter that courts could deal with and that the Prime Minister had acted unlawfully in inviting the queen to prorogue for five weeks. And we will hear from lawyers who won the case at the high court in london. That case ruled that prorogation was a matter of high quality and politics, essentially political and not a matter that the court should get involved with. So, these are separate appeals but the issues are similar and today we will get the response to the people who have brought the appeals. So much of this is unprecedented, not least the interest in what is going on at the Supreme Court. Something like 20,000 people watching each month, but there were a Million People yesterday and many outside. What do you make of the intense interest here . It is phenomenal, but we must remember that this is an appeal case in which a Prime Minister of the United Kingdom stands accused of misleading the monarch and undermining the sovereign body in our constitution, parliament, so they were very strong opinions on both sides, and many feel that the Prime Minister has undermined parliamentary sovereignty on the one hand. On the other hand, people think that the referendum was the people speaking and that must be respected and that the court should keep out and we should get on with brexit. But today the aim is to show that these beans can be grown in this country and successfully harvested with Standard Farm equipment, like this combine harvester. They go through the combine very well and comes out very clean, as you can see from some of the samples, so, yeah, i think it has a real future to be perfectly honest, and we will probably grow it on our own farm. They send a text message, they get it back and then they start this whole conversation that does not need to be happening. And you could spend ages doing that, couldnt you . If it doesnt matter and you just look at it and it creates a whole new conversation, it could be going on for hours and hours and there is no point. Well, these are wise words. They are very clear about the great things about being online and the less great things about that and what we have tried to do with the own it app is to be positive and help children eliminate the negative. The data of the child remains on the phone, it doesnt go anywhere. It is not being uploaded. It does not report to the parent, this is not about parental monitoring. There are lots of Safety Devices out there, this is not to replace them, this is about giving the child personal support. And one of the things they have reported on the testing is that opportunityjust to have a place where they can see how they are feeling. That was the question facing the former fishing town of fleetwood in lancashire where lifestyle choices and illness meant people were dying younger than the national average. Three years ago a local gp began to lead efforts to turn things around, and as our Health Correspondent Dominic Hughes has been finding out, there are encouraging signs of improvement. Fighting fit, or at least heading that way. A boxing class originally set up for those battling addiction. Go people like chris, who was forced to reappraise his life after being admitted to hospital. I was locked away in my house, drinking, not doing a lot, smoking too much. Never sober. I would be back in hospital for another session with high Blood Pressure and then again and again until finally, it got me. Chris was lucky. A conversation with a specialist alcohol nurse helped him turn things around. But in fleetwood, the problems chris faced were not unusual. A form fishing town where unemployment, poverty and a lack of opportunity have played havoc with peoples health. This is a town where for years, people have struggled with the effects of ill health and may be dying sooner than other, more affluent parts of United Kingdom. So, three years ago, efforts were guided to try and improve the health of this entire community, and there are early signs that things might just be Getting Better. Life wasjust it wasnt good, for me. Ive been through a lot. In the face of crippling anxiety, michaela struggled. Through the healthy fleetwood initiative, designed to give people more control over their wellbeing, she is being prescribed this art therapy class, which is helping her rely less on the nhs. So your relationship with the gp surgery and your gp has changed, then . It has changed dramatically, yeah. Now it just boosts my confidence. And to me, i think thats the medicine thats medicine. And it isntjust michaela, there has been a significant reduction in the number of fleetwood residents turning up at the local a e or going to emergency. We want people to live well with long term conditions, not just survive with them. So giving them that agency and ability to take control of their own lives is a good thing in and of itself. And here is a powerful symbol of change. The beds have been left on the ground floor. The right in the centre of town, the local cottage hospital, closed up and decaying for years, has been given a new lease of life. Various organisations in fleetwood are trying to Work Together as one unified approach, this will be a great place to access headquarters from here out. Transforming the health of an entire community is not easy. There is still a long way to go.
