The Pinellas County Chapter of the FAWL and the Clearwater Bar Association worked to provide a space to not only serve attorneys but also litigants, employees and visitors to the courthouse, providing greater access to the justice system for all breastfeeding mothers. Florida courthouses — trial and appellate — would be required to set aside “lactation spaces” under a bill filed by a South Florida lawmaker. Sen. Lori Berman, D-Boynton Beach, filed SB 196 on December 7. “When Floridians elected us to serve in their Legislature, they did so with the hope that we would improve their quality of life in a period of great uncertainty,” Berman said in a written statement.
