KINGSTON, N.H: (
WBZ NewsRadio) — The latest incident in a growing number of gender reveal mishaps has struck close to home.
A massive explosion from a gender reveal in Kingston, N.H. rattled windows as far as the Merrimack Valley and as far north as Epping, N.H., the Manchester-Union Leader reported.
The explosion happened Tuesday night around 7 p.m.
Police said Tannerite, an explosive used in exploding targets, was found at a nearby quarry at Torromeo Industries in Kingston, along with blue chalk. That traditionally means it's a boy.
Gender reveal parties have had a rising death-and-damage toll in recent months, including the El Dorado wildfire in California. In February, a man was killed in New York following a gender reveal explosion.
