Dao HOUSTON – A recently filed lawsuit alleges tires from a Mack cement truck broke free and crossed several lanes of traffic, and even skipped over a highway median, before crushing part of a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Seeking $2.5 million in damages, Vicheth Srou filed suit against Apple Towing, Eric Ruiz and Alexis Reyes in Harris County District Court. According to the lawsuit, on March 1 Ruiz was towing Reyes’ large Mack cement truck. As Ruiz was traveling southbound on SH-228, the left set of tandem wheels entirely separated from the cement truck. “They bounced across numerous lanes, and across the median of SH-288, before colliding with, and crushing part of (Srou’s) vehicle, which was traveling northbound on SH-288,” the suit states.
