Bristol pub to undergo major £450k transformation It's closing next week to allow for the refurbishment to take place Updated A prominent Bristol pub is closing next week to allow for a major refurbishment to take place. The Portcullis in Fishponds will pull its final pint on Sunday, June 6, so that owners Heineken and new landlord Abhi Paudel can get to work on the £450,000 transformation. The investment will see the former wet-led local become a "family friendly premium neighbourhood pub" offering food and fresh coffee for the first time. Not only will the overhaul transform the interior and exterior of the building, but the pub will also have a new name when it reopens in late July - The Fishponds Tap.
