Updated: 10:33 PM EDT Jun 29, 2021 By Russ Reed Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand has been named to the National Hockey League's postseason First All-Star Team for the 2020-21 season.This marks the third straight season that Marchand was named an NHL postseason All-Star, as he was named to the Second All-Star Team after the 2019-20 and 2018-19 seasons.The 33-year-old was also named to the First All-Star Team after the 2016-17 campaign, making it four total postseason All-Star nods in his 12-season NHL career.Marchand finished the 2020-21 regular season with 29 goals and 40 assists for 69 points, all team highs, in 53 games. The alternate captain also finished with the team's second-best plus-minus rating (+26), trailing only Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron (+27).The Nova Scotia native produced the highest point-per-game average of his career (1.30) and ended up finishing fifth in the Hart Trophy voting, which is given to the NHL's most valuable player.In the playoffs, Marchand played in all 11 of Boston's games and scored a team-high eight goals, including two game-winners, and finished in a tie for second on the squad with 12 postseason points after notching four assists.The Bruins drafted Marchand with the 71st overall pick in the third round of the 2006 draft. He's played in 804 NHL regular-season games with career marks of 319 goals and 396 goals for 715 points and a rating of plus-247. He has made two NHL All-Star Game appearances (2017, 2018).He has also played 132 career playoff games with 45 goals, 62 assists, 107 points and a plus-30 rating in the postseason. He was part of Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup championship team as a rookie.
