Bucks County’s Democratic leaders don’t plan on attending the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday out of concern for security and safety in the pandemic, but they wish him success in reuniting the country. Bucks County Democratic Party Chairman John Cordisco, of Newtown Township, likened the situation in Washington leading up to the crisis Jan. 6 as “a forest full of timbers that only needed one little match to ignite it and unfortunately the president provided that and as a result we saw just a very tragic and horrible situation occur.” But he’s confident that when Biden, who he considers a friend, takes office as the 46th president of the United States, he will be able to put out the fire.
