Nearly a year into the pandemic, New Hampshire officials are seeing more people accessing its Doorway, a program that connects people to treatment and resources for substance abuse disorders, including those suffering from alcohol addiction.
In March, New Hampshire, like the rest of the nation, went into lockdown to combat COVID-19. Months later, people are still feeling the stress of social isolation.Sign up for our Newsletters
"This isolation and stress that people are experiencing during the pandemic, especially the extended period of time, has had a significant impact on individual's mental health and on their substance use," said Stephanie Savard, of the Governor's Commission on Alcohol and Drugs.
