Steve Milano has submitted his resignation. Canton Local Board of Education will discuss and likely accept his request Monday night. The meeting begins 7 p.m. in the Canton South High cafeteria. In 2015, Milano was hired to replace Kim Redmond who retired. Prior to that, Milano was in charge of the Louisville City School District. He received a new contract that went into effect Aug. 1, 2020, at annual base salary of $127,000. Under Milano's leadership, the district opened a new high school in 2017 and broke ground on new construction of a middle school last September. The old middle school will be renovated into an elementary school.
