Educators likely will get their own COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Cape Cod after all. In a U-turn from their announcement earlier this week, Cape Cod officials are working on plans for a clinic that would be open only to K-12 educators and staff, and child care workers. The Barnstable County Vaccine Consortium will release more details next week, state Sen. Julian Cyr, D-Truro, said Thursday during the Cape Cod COVID-19 Response Task Force’s weekly press briefing. His announcement marks a shift from a letter the Cape’s legislative delegation sent Tuesday to Cape school superintendents. The letter, signed by eight legislators, said the Baker-Polito administration had told them it had no plans for an educator-only site anywhere on Cape Cod, including the Upper Cape Regional Technical School in Bourne, where some officials had hoped to host a teacher-vaccination clinic.
