Print Caregivers adjusting to the constant changes involved with tending to a loved one with a terminal health condition often find a great sense of relief from attending support group meetings. Before the COVID-19 pandemic changed daily life, San Diego County was home to a wide array of in-person classes, support groups, conferences and workshops aimed at educating family caregivers and helping them feel less isolated. As the world shut down and the “new normal” of Zoom video chats was born, it left some caregivers, who were uncomfortable with interacting with others online, in the dark. Spurred by the need to share crucial information with more people caring for their loved ones, the San Diego and Imperial counties chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association has launched a new podcast: “Experiences in Caregiving; Stories and Support for Caregivers.”
