Superintendent of Carlsbad Schools Dr. Gerry Washburn said Carlsbad students would return to five-day a week in-person learning on March 29, 2021. The announcement followed a decision by the New Mexico Public Education Department and Department of Health on Monday that all public schools could fully reopen by April 5. “We are phasing out what we’ve been calling ‘hybrid’ learning, although there will continue to be a fully remote option for those families who choose it,” said Public Education Secretary Ryan Stewart in a news release.
