Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 11, 2021 | 9:51 AM The Christian County Public School System and Murray State University have partnered in a program centered on the premise of developing future educators. According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, the program from both Hopkinsville and Christian County high schools is in Murray State’s 18-county west Kentucky service region. Participating students will take courses through a new dual credit program and earn college credit toward a degree offered through Murray State’s College of Education and Human Services. Called the “Grow Your Own” program, holds significant opportunities for students to explore the teaching profession as a career before graduating high school with the potential of also helping address teacher shortages and increasing diversity in educators.
