March 7 is known as 307 day in Wyoming. That is the day we honor this great state and its people. This is a small-town state. Our largest city wouldnât fill a football stadium. That is just one of many reasons why we love it here. In addition, everything is an adventure when you live in Wyoming. I have gathered a few facts about our state. In the late 1880s it was believed that clearing the land of predators was an essential part of settlement. The bounty was $6 for each lion killed. That was incentive for annihilating lions. In the 1890s, when Little Americaâs founder was a young man herding sheep in Wyoming, he became lost in a blizzard and was forced to camp out at the place where the original Little America stands today. That night he dreamed of a warm fire, something to eat and warm blankets. His vision came true in the 1930s when he built on the same spot of his harrowing experience, between Lyman and Green River. The founder was Stephen Covey.
