But 34-year-old Chinese pianist Yuja Wang, who delivers electrifying live performances across the globe, is different. With her bold fashion sense, and active social media presence — she has over 174,000 followers on Instagram — Wang has pushed the traditional boundaries of classical music, and has reached a wider audience. Now, the classical music superstar is coming to the 14,000-seat Dickies Arena — a venue built for concerts, sporting events and the Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances. There Wang will play Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Fort Worth Symphony in a Feb. 20 gala concert. Led by conductor Eric Jacobsen, the program will also include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4.
