So how could they have an impact if we dont even know who they couldnt put up well, first of all, they have so much money they can do anything they want. They can put up a frog and get some votes. In fact, that would probably be Pepe The Frog and theyd get a lot of votes. So those who deanna trumps hide but just most of the serious people have turned them down. Larry hogan turn them down theyre not gonna get a serious politician because its such youre not really a serious politician if you run for president United States and you get 2 , which is what theyre going to get the problem is that 2 might come out of joe biden hide, and that would be enough to put trump into the white house so also, this week robert f. Some of these polls are showing him in double digits, isnt every dollar that goes to an effort to tamp down on rfk jr. And your support, another dollar they cant actually be spent on the race at hand, which is joebiden against donald trump i dont think its gonna be any limit to dollars spent in this race. However significant or insignificant they are being turned over to the defense, even if you believe that they are not core to the case. Ace or material or whatever your position is as a prosecutor, youre going to say, of course, were going to give time for you to go through these because otherwise, if there is when theres a trial and if theres a conviction that could be something that could could cause an issue on appeal if you dont, and its the right thing to do to allow them to you have time to go over the documents. So i really think that nobody should read too much into da bragg agreeing to not the and of what trump was asking for it. Theyre giving a reasonable amount of delay in terms of how important it is. I think we dont know yet. We will know when the defense does have a chance to go through and see whats in the documents and it very likely could be that the trial could proceed after 30 days. Or the defense could make arguments of why they need further delay, but thats taken they are asking john for 90 days or to dismiss the case entirely. They would love for this case to just go away how likely how quickly do you think the judge has to decide the case was supposed to start two weeks from now, while the case is not going to be dismissed. But i had occasion on friday at the aba meeting in San Francisco to give a talk on, i called donald trump and existential threat to the rule of law and to mark or c, democracy, notwithstanding that being said, hes entitled to the very constitution that he wants to suspend on day one. Hes entitled to for those protections. One of them has the effect of assistance of counsel. We dont know whats in those documents. I presume they relate to michael cohen, who it could be have what we lawyers call brady material exculpatory. It certainly is going to deal with information that they can use to crossexamine him so they have a right to confront witnesses against them. And i think whether or not that delay is a reasonable 30 days, 60 days, 90 days depends upon those documents. And i think they said there are more coming. So i think the judges is going to be a fair referee and its going to give the appropriate amount of time thats necessary so that donald trump, like everyone else, will get get a fair trial. Yeah. I mean, a Reality Check that could be me. The delay could happen and it could be perhaps longer than 30 days down in florida. Judge cannon, whos ever seen the documents case, she pretty quickly dismissed one of the arguments at the Trump Campaign was making that he was charged under a law that was too vague. But on the second issue of the president ial records act, she still has to decide where she stands on that. They want the case thrown out based on this idea that trump could have held onto these documents because of the president ial records act. Thats a pretty significant ruling that she needs to make thank here it is, but i think shes expressed skepticism about that as well. That issue and seems to be i mean, its Reading Tea Leaves well see when she whirls on it, but she seems to be saying thats an argument for you to make to the jury, which is what she said with respect to the first argument as well. And well see what she rolls, but if if if she goes the pattern of what she did with the first issue her skepticism that shes expressed might indicate that she will not grant that motion. John, what do you make of how judge cannon is handled . This case so far there have been a lot of questions about whether she has the ability to be fair here. And i think that its very dangerous when we jump all over, judge cannon. I still believe shes going to do the right thing. Shes going to deny the motion to dismiss, but shes going to say that its a factual question, meaning, if trump wants to testify and say, hey, i believed i could do this, he cant say what the law is. He cant say the president ial records act provides thats a legal question. But if he wants to testify to that as to his intent is state of mind. I think it becomes a jury question. Yeah. Look, i mean, thats very questionable based on people who look at that records act and say thats not really what its meant to say, but well its a postwatergate stack the jury just wrong in that regard, the records its belong to the people.
