Print When journalist Scott Marshutzwas invited to attend the Angel City Games adaptive sports festival in 2016, he wasn’t expecting much. At best, he would get a story out of it. At worst, he would hang out at the nice UCLA campus and call it a day. But as Marshutz watched athletes with various physical disabilities and mobility impairments competing in wheelchair basketball games and track-and-field events, his feelings changed. Casual curiosity quickly turned to intense interest, followed by a serious wave of inspiration. It turns out you don’t even have to be a para athlete to be transformed by para athletics. That’s how powerful it is.
