Members of the community, as well as various organizations throughout Amarillo, are preparing to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day throughout the city in a new way. Representatives of local churches, businesses and community members will participate in a march at 11 a.m. Monday from New Hope Baptist Church, located at 900 N. Hayden St., to Bones Hooks Park, located at 2000 N. Hughes St., in honor of the holiday. When individuals arrive at the park after the march is completed, there will be a short program, consisting of prayer, speeches from community members as well as music and dance, all of which is centered around the theme of “Be The Change.”
