Congressman Garcia Reflects Back On Successes, Challenges Of First Year In Office Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, reflected back on his first year in office tackling issues from power shut offs to the coronavirus pandemic to the High-Speed Rail Project. A little over a year ago, on May 19th, 2020, Garcia was sworn into office as the Representative for California’s 25th District, which includes Santa Clarita. “I want you to know that since coming to Congress, with every vote I’ve taken, every bill I’ve introduced and every issue I’ve fought for; I have always kept the interests of our community, our security and the Constitution at heart,” Garcia said. “While there is still much work to be done, I’d like to take a moment and remind you of some of the work we’ve achieved on behalf of California’s 25th District over the last 12 months.”
