Country must expose UNHRC’s double standards - Prelate Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.) The Mahanayake of Asgiri Chapter Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanaratana Thera stated that the whole country should rally against the resolution passed by the Geneva Human Rights Council against Sri Lanka, irrespective of party affiliations. He also said that if we are not united as a country at this critical juncture, the forces against us will benefit. The Mahanayake Thera made this statement when Education Minister Prof. G.L Pieris visited the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya yesterday (4) and received the blessings of the Chief Prelate. “The world has seen how the Sri Lankan Army has worked to save the lives of innocent Tamils in the North in the fight against terrorism and this time the pressure exerted on our country by certain pro-LTTE groups can only be defeated if we stand together regardless of race, religion or party affiliations,” the Thera further highlighted.
