TOWSON — Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski, Jr. announced his campaign for reelection Thursday morning, settling questions about a potential bid for governor in 2022.
A former educator and Democrat from Dundalk, Olszewski is the first and so far only person to publicly declare candidacy, seeking a second four-year term that would keep him at the helm of the county through 2026.
“Just a few years ago, we started a conversation about what a stronger and better Baltimore County looks like,” he said in a video on Twitter. “I'm proud to say that in partnership with you, we are delivering on that promise.
