Covid-19: Auckland Waitangi Day events cancelled as organise

Also on the chopping block was Waitangi ki Manukau in south Auckland, where Che Fu and Herbs were scheduled to play.
“Holding a concert at this time given our community’s vulnerability would be irresponsible,” Manukau Urban Māori Authority board chairman Bernie O'Donnell said.
“The risk profile is too great in our mind now, so we are acting decisively according to the best interests of the community we serve.”
The event will instead be postponed until next year.
This weekend marks Auckland Anniversary Day, which is also celebrated in Northland, Waikato, the Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.
