Article content The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Huron-Perth region has nearly doubled over the Christmas weekend, jumping from 53 active cases on Christmas Eve to 101 reported by local public health officials on Dec. 28. Huron Perth public health reported a smattering of new cases across Huron County, including three in Goderich, nine new cases in Stratford, one in St. Marys and several each in Perth South, Perth East and West Perth. By far, the largest jump was seen in North Perth, with 26 new cases identified since Thursday. In total, officials identified 70 new cases over the holiday weekend.
