Now that the majority of Allegheny County adults are vaccinated, public health experts hope that people will choose to use opioids in the presence of someone with naloxone. This increases the chance of the opioid user of being revived if they overdose. Allegheny County’s Board of Health on Wednesday met in-person for the first time since March 2020. Most of the board members appeared maskless. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that a fully vaccinated person does not have to cover their face while indoors.
