COVID-related deaths rise by 7 in Lake, Sumter
Three Lake County residents and four from Sumter were among the state’s latest reported deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to Monday’s update from the Florida Department of Health.
LEESBURG — Three Lake County residents and four from Sumter were among the state’s latest reported deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to Monday’s update from the Florida Department of Health.
The reported fatalities equal the combined number from previous three update and raises the area’s death toll to 380, including 274 residents of Lake County and 106 from Sumter. 
Details about each local death was not immediately available, due to the state transitioning to a new method of reporting deaths on the DOH website. DOH offices in Tallahassee and Lake County have not responded to emails seeking information about the local deaths.
