[cheering] [crowd talking] pres. Trump we are doing well with china. We are not ready to make a deal. We will see what happens. We have been hurt by china for 25, 30 years. Nobody has done anything about it. We have no choice but to do what we are doing. It is working out very well. Manipulationm on and they have brought their numbers back. They brought them back rapidly. They were able to do that because they manipulate. It is called monetary manipulation. Not good. We have an open dialogue. We will see if we keep meeting in september. If we do, that is fine. If we dont, that is fine. I said the american taxpayer is not paying for it. We had a big day in the stock market yesterday, but the meghan taxpayer is not paying for it. What china is doing is depressing their currency by pouring tremendous amounts of money into their system. They are paying for it. The prices have not gone up. In some cases they have gone down because the devaluation plus the money supply, the amount of money they pour in, which is a form of manipulation, has more than compensated for an increase in price. As i said and everybody questioned it, in the case of china, the tariffs have been amazing. We are taking in millions and billions of dollars. China has had their worst year in 35 years now. It was in 26 years, but now it is 35 years. I want them to do well, but as of this moment they are having the worst year theyve had in many years, in decades. Really we are just bringing the system back into order. We have all the cards. We are doing well. Our country is doing fantastically well. You look at europe, they have problems. The biggest problem we have is the fact that a lot of other continents and countries are not doing well. We are doing great and we continue to do great. Our companies are poised. They have a lot of cash. Our system is beautiful. Reporter the nra has been a strong supporter of [indiscernible] i think i could but i dont think i will be there. I have a great relationship with the nra. They supported me very early and that has been a great decision they made. We have justice cavanaugh. We have justice gorsuch. They feel very strongly about the Second Amendment. The nra made a great decision in supporting me. Nobody else would have won. I have a very good relationship. I have a great relationship with the nra. I have a lot of respect for the people at the nra. I have already spoken to them on numerous occasions. Numerous occasions. Frankly, we need intelligent background checks. This is not a question of nra, republican or democrat. I spoke to Mitch Mcconnell yesterday. He is totally on board. He set up and waiting for your call. He is totally on board. I spoke to senators, friends of mine, pretty hardline senators. When i say that i say that in a positive way. Hardliners for the Second Amendment. They understand that we dont want insane people, mentally a people, bad people, dangerous people, we dont want guns in the hands of those people. I think the republicans are going to be great and lead the charge, along with the democrats. I spoke to nancy pelosi. We had a great talk. I spoke to Chuck Schumer. We had a great talk. Chuck schumer is my china policy, has you probably know. I said i cant believe you actually like something im doing. He said not like, love. He is great on the china situation, which we are winning and winning big. China wants to do something but im not ready to do anything at. 25 years of abuse, im not ready to go fast. We will see how that works out. Havee background checks we tremendous support for really common sense, sensible, important background checks. Reporter [inaudible] pres. Trump time goes by. I dont think im different. I think the senate is different. I think other people in the house are different. I think the people that may had their arm up a couple of years ago, maybe they feel differently. I dont think i feel any differently. With a lot of success weve had i think i have a greater influence now over the senate and over the house. I think we can get something really good done. I think we can have some really meaningful background checks. We dont want people that are mentally ill, people that are sick, we dont want them having guns. Who does . Reporter [inaudible] see wherep we will the nra will be. We have to have meaningful background checks. In both cases it is possible that were not they would not have been caught. We also have to talk about age. He did things that were very bad in ohio, in dayton. He did some things that were really bad. The school knew about it. When he turned 18, everything was expunged. We have to get rid of that because you cant have that barrier. If they had that barrier, they would have been able to see. But because he was a minor it was expunged. We have to get rid of that barrier. I think a lot of really meaningful things, background checks will take place, including red flags, including other very important items. The republicans are looking at it very seriously. I believe the nra i have spoken to them on numerous times. They are really good people. They are patriots. They love our country. They love our country so much. Frankly, i think they will get there. You talked to him several times. Did he warn you background checks could cost you politically . Pres. Trump no. I had a good talk with wayne. I like wayne. They supported me very early. Far earlier than anybody thought possible, especially me not being a politician. That support has paid off. We now have two Supreme Court justices that are phenomenal. Cavanaugh and gorsuch. They are phenomenal people. They are big believers in the Second Amendment, which wayne is also an im. I am. That is no president feels more strongly about the Second Amendment and i do. However we need meaningful background checks so that sick people dont get guns. End wayne and the nra will either be there or maybe we will be a little bit more neutral. That would be ok too. Up very toughken stance on everything. I understand it. Its a slippery slope. They think you approve one thing and that leads to a lot of bad things. I dont agree with that. I think we can do meaningful very meaningful background checks. I want to see it happen. I have a lot of support. I also have the support of other people from the other side. I think the democrats and republicans have a chance to really come together. Why wasnt there a better system in place to deal with the Migrant Children . Pres. Trump you cant let anybody know, otherwise nobody will be there. A big factor is to let people outside of the country that were to come in legally when they and we havearavans, the numbers way down right now. Mexico has done a fantastic job. Mexico has 26,000 soldiers right now on the border. They have been fantastic. Because of tariffs, but i dont care why it. I will be calling the president at a certain point. I just hope they keep it up. If the democrats would change the law i was thinking about putting together, you know, with the gun situation. We have immigration and we have, lets say some of the things were talking about right now together. If theyeople to know come into the United States illegally, they are getting out. They will be brought out. This serves as a very good deterrent. If people come into our country illegally, they are going out. They are not coming in illegally and staying. We have bad laws. They make it in, although we are being tough but they may get in. It doesnt matter because they are going out. When people see what they saw yesterday and like they will see for a long time, they know they are not staying here. Its really amazing because africanamerican unemployment just came out very recently. The lowest in history. The best numbers in history. Africanamerican employment and hispanic and asian. They have more people working today than ever worked in the history of our country. Plus i did criminal Justice Reform which president obama could not get approved in the media never talks about. If president obama got criminal Justice Reform done, it would be front page stories all over the place. I got it done. I think africanamericans appreciate it. They have the best unemployment numbers. I have the best unemployment number is for a lot of people, but africanamericans are number one that weve ever had. One more thing we did. Aside from criminal Justice Reform, opportunity zones. They are doing unbelievably well. You will see that and you have already seen it. Opportunity zones. The biggest beneficiaries are africanamericans. Reporter but would be your advice for him . Pres. Trump who are you talking about . Reporter the president of ukraine. What you work with him on how to communicate with Vladimir Putin to stop the conflict in ukraine . Pres. Trump i think he is going to make a deal with president putin. He will be invited to the white house. We look forward to seeing him. He has already been invited to the white house. I think he will. Hes a reasonable guy. He wants to see peace in ukraine. I think he will be coming very soon. Reporter president obamas comments overnight pres. Trump he made that comment. I thought whoa. I saw his comment. Joe biden is not playing with a full deck. This is not somebody you can have as your president. If you got the nomination, i would be thrilled. Reporter [indiscernible] pres. Trump we are looking at that right now. We have a lot of these companies coming in a little while, as you know. We will be very tough with them. They are treating conservatives very unfairly. Hollywood i dont call them the elite. I think the elite are people that go after it many cases. Hollywood is really terrible. You talk about racists, hollywood is racist. What they are doing with the kind of movies they are putting out, its actually very dangerous for our country. What hollywood is doing is a tremendous disservice to our country. We have been a little while all the heads of the Biggest Companies coming in. We will talk to them. They treat conservatives, republicans totally different than they treat others. They cant do that. Is the ministers and going to devalue the u. S. Dollar . Pres. Trump we dont have to. The dollar is at a level that makes it hard. Money is pouring in because we have the safe currency in the world. We have the standard of the world. Because it is so strong, it has gotten so strong because other countries have problems. It makes it harder for manufacturers. If we lowered the Interest Rate by the Federal Reserve, that would automatically bring down the dollar little bit and it would make it easier for caterpillar and these companies. We have the greatest currency in the world. Reporter are you thinking of canceling the talks next month with china . Pres. Trump china wants to settle this deal. They had the worst year it had in many decades. It is getting only wears. Thousands of companies are leaving china. They would like to make a deal. Im not ready to make a deal. Reporter are you willing to cancel the talks . Pres. Trump maybe. Right now the talks are scheduled in september. Whether or not we are talking about china or they are canceled, we will see. As i said, our people are not paying for these billions and billions of dollars that came in. 16 billion of which i gave to the farmers because they were targeted by china. That is just a small fraction of what we have taken in. They are not what china has been doing as a currency manipulator, they manipulated the value of the currency. That is where the money comes. Also, they put tremendous money into the system. If you look, prices have not risen. Our people have not paid. Oh, trump. They dont know what they are talking about. China is unique. It probably happens with other countries. The prices have not gonna. We have virtually no inflation in our country. If the Federal Reserve would bring down Interest Rates over time, i without deceit a point or a little bit more than that. If they would stop quantitative tightening, we have a rocketship. We are doing well without it, but be a wing we are being handcuffed by the reserve. If they stopped doing that, it would be incredible. Reporter [indiscernible] pres. Trump i hope south korea and i hope japan start getting along with each other. They are supposed to be allies. It puts us in a very difficult position. South korea and japan are fighting all the time. They have got to get along because it puts us in a very bad position. That being said, i have a very beautiful letter from kim jongun yesterday. We will not do business with hawei. We are not doing business with them. That does not mean to the not agree to something if and when we make a trade deal. I spoke to them about different people. Hes the head of intelligence. I am working with senator byrd. I want to get somebody everybody can really come together with. Allie p tossed her a lot. I like pete hofstra a lot. Is doing great work in the netherlands. Thats a job everybody wants, he and i. I am dealing with a committee. I am dealing with really senator byrd a lot. We will come up with somebody that is great. We have a lot of choices. Reporter [indiscernible] im concerned they are not getting along with each other. They have to get along with each other. If they dont get along, what are we doing. They have to get along with each other. South korea and japan have to sit down and get along with each other. Otherwise what are we all doing . No money put up by the United States whatsoever. They offered to fund our troops and lots of other things. The way it should be. Not the stupid deals we made with all these other countries who take advantage of us. Poland has been terrific. We are going to poland very soon. Im sure you will be going with us. I had a great experience in poland the last time i went. Some of you said the speech was one of the best ever made in europe by the american president. Hard to believe you actually said that. They were competitors but friends in real estate in new york in the old days. Hes a great guy. He is probably more inclined to be a liberal if you want to know the truth. But he likes me and respect me. We are doing a fundraiser. Were doing another fundraiser with another friend of mine. I understand the fundraiser was totally sold out. Its very successful. We have two fundraisers. One with stephen one with another gentleman. 11 million orge 12 million. Im getting used to saying billion. Reporter when you talked about age restrictions, 18 month ago you supported buying guns at the age of 25, raising the age. Are you considering bringing that back now . Pres. Trump were not talking about anything specific. There is tremendous goodwill. I took it about meaningful background checks so sick and demented people dont carry around guns. You have to remember, and ive said it, big Mental Illness problem. The gun does not pull the trigger. A sick mind pulls the trigger. We want to take that out of the equation. By the time we call them back they will be back anyway. I dont think we will need to call them back. I think we will have a good package by the time to come back and they can start debating and voting on it. I really dont think a little time in matters. Leadership is dimming a good job. I think we have a lot of support. Im very fortunate in the Republican Party of net 94 Approval Rating so that helps. I have a greater publishing relationship with republican senators. What i said was there was tremendous opposition from many people on both sides. I see a better feeling right now towards getting something meaningful done. After parkland but not to the same level and talking about now. We did various other things. We did do a lot of work after parkland but i think we have now a chance to do something much more meaningful. Do with background checks. Reporter [indiscernible] it is almost backtoschool season. What is your message to children nervous about going back to school . Pres. Trump my message to Young Children going back to school is go and really study hard and someday you will grow up and maybe be president of the United States or do Something Else thats fantastic. They have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about. We are in Constant Contact with states, state governments. They are really doing a great job. It is so much better than it was two and a half years ago. When i came in it was really not a good situation. I think we have a very good system right now. That does not mean there will not be some crazy person, but that is what we want to do. We want to take the guns out of the hands of crazy, demented, sick people.
