36 members of the u. S. House has said they are not seeking reelection, nine democrats, 26 republicans and one libertarian. Representative susan brooks of indianas congressional announced plans to retire, a debate between the candidates buying to fill the seats, democrat christina and republican victoria sparks the Fifth District congressional town hall is made possible through the support of Central Indiana community foundation, and aarp indiana good evening and welcome, this is a congressional town hall meeting featuring candidates for the United States house of representatives in the Fifth District of indiana, they are democrat Christina Hale and republican victoria sparks, this town hall is presented with t te help of w fyi by indiana town hall, nonpartisan, Nonprofit Organization, please check out our website at indiana town halls. Org. We begin with an Opening Statement from Christina Hale. Jim, victoria its good to be here with you tonight, indiana town hall, thank you for having this and thank you for everyone watching and listening, im Christina Hale, im running for congress because i believe we need problem solvers in washington and we need people who will reach across the aisle and get things done, that is what i did as a youngle single mom, i learned the hard way putting myself through Purdue University and work in the job that i needed to to pay our bills and put my son to school as well. Thats what i learned that the Top Executive as a global ecdedicated Public Health into childrens issues, headquartered right here in our district, and the international, thats what i learned at the state legislator where every single bill i passed, i passed as a democrat with a republican partner helping me by my side. I believe that we need to go to washington, reach across the aisle and get things done and i am that person. Thank you. An Opening Statement from republican victoria sparks. Hello my fellow hoosiers, thank you for being with us tonight, thank you jim and think you christina, i hope we have one more debate, joe biden has two so we can do three. I know there are a lot of things happen the ho in our country, at of debates, a lot of discussions, we can disagree on a lot but whether you are republican, democrat or independent, we can agree on one thing, or government is broken, it is full of career politicians, servant specials interest in empty promises. I was not chosen by the Party Establishment with a candidate that is very accomplished and a business woman and assure them by the people, i have enormous appreciation for everything in this country that has given to willing to fight for you to deliver real results, im not looking for a job to do a job for you, im looking for a solid debate and discussion. Thank you and now questions in the wake of the death of Supreme Court justice ruthst bar ginsburg, there is a movement to expand the Supreme Court from nine to 11 justices, do you support that idea, why or why not. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away a few days ago, i think we should certainly honor her legacy for women as americans and as a jurist her legacy to the United States of america, i have heard some of this talking speculation it seems there is a candidate in the pipeline that will be confirmed by the senate soon and i heard speculation about the potential changes to grow the Supreme Court, i believe the last time it happened in the late 1800s and certainly i will take my time and pick a very considered decision as we begin to think through this, lets get our next member approved and have a whole court first and then we can discuss the rest. Christina hale. Do you support expanding the u. S. Supreme court. Im sorry christina sparks. I have enormous appreciation for any woman that wants to be a Public Service and Justice Ginsburg was a strong woman and a woman who promoted women and has two daughters, i think its important to respect peoples legacies but senators have to do their job and i think people have actions and elected to do their jobs and i think senate should debate and go through the process to deliver results, i think people expect results and consequences. I think its an important issue that the senate will have to address. 375 registered voters compartment a survey conducted by indiana town hall with the help of a Nonprofit Organization in california called informing to empower, most of the rest of our questions will come from that list, heres a question that one of the greatest imports from voters, when you vote to remove or amend the Affordable Care act, and if so what should replace it, this goes for victoria spartz, i promise not to get your name wrong again. That is okay. This is a very important question, as a business owner, a Small Business owner and who do not have insurance and had to struggle to find affordable insurance i understand healthcare is becoming very, very more important issue but unfortunately what is happening Affordable Care act with a quarter of a trillion to special Interest Groups is actually over 400,000 for each additional person that god in short is unacceptable and it would double the insurance premium, this would serve in special interest nor the people, legislator i want to run who pushes for the real reform so we the people the transparency with no surprise billing and special interest in delivering the result and that is the difference and we support great public option in the state of indiana and they voted against it but i think they could do better and i support state to do a better job because they will deliver better quality, most centralized special interest of control congress right now. Victoria spartz seems to be misleading the voters, been very clear through my primary and up this point in victorias primary she talked about her fight against the Affordable Care act, i would fight to keep it and improvend it, if you private Health Insurance all fight to keep it and make it more affordable, during this pandemic of the responsible thing to do is to ensure the 329,000 people that we have in our district who currently have preexisting conditions that they can maintain their coverage, and victoria spartz had her way, that would be repealed, that is dangerous in a responsible, there are things that we must ds to improve the Affordable Care act but through this pandemic we must have a public option for those who have no Health Insurance and this is a difference between my opponentes and myself. Let me followup, Christina Hill how would you seek to approve the Affordable Care act. There are a few ways, think we have to make peoples prescriptions more affordable, we have to make sure that everybody can go to the doctor, pay for that visit and pay for the medicine in the therapy that they need to do well and have it not break the bank. Victoria spartz what would you replace the Affordable Care act with. First of all we need to stop funneling billions to special Interest Groups to obamacare and let states provide good flexibility with good public options for the people which over 400,000 people with the state of indiana with the 2. 0 she voted against and talks about public option but she did not before, we need to have more transparency and more affordability and price and people need to know the price of healthcare and people need to have a choice, choice of doctoring the choice of insurance and more value driven not just healthcare, right now the control in healthcare and bankrupting our country it is notth acceptable. What is your opinion of the black lives matter protest. I think its someone who grew up in the country where peaceful products were not allowed, you actually would be in jail, i have enormous appreciation for this life of people. But there is a difference with peaceful protest in stealing peoples prompt enter property, that cannot be accepted in civil society, we need to always remember that, as someone in the statehouse has to support Public Safety and make sure we have a good criminal Justice Reform, if support to have this initiative and christina voted against the initiative and against 80 million a Public Safety, i think its important to remember that. Christina hale. To i think we will have victoria spartz destroying my record in misleading voters, black lives matter is an incredibly important and poignant time inte american history, we certainly have a legacy of systemic racism and you need to go to her Indiana State Museum to see the proof and you can see our governor, half our state legislature, just 100 years ago routed for being members of the kkk and today our young people are africanamerican adults and neighbors and friends are seen on cell phone videos, people who have suffered horrific deaths such as george floyd, this is something that we have to Pay Attention to and we have to honor and its a shame to politicize this, people have a right to peaceful protest and i will stand up forp that right, writing is never okay but people have a right to their constitutional right to protest and that is so important as americans. What should be done to reform policing in america Christina Hale. This is an area where we can do several simple things right now that i believe will bring a lot of relief to all americans who know the police should be there to protect and serve everybody, first as they voted in the general assembly, we need to ensure our Law Enforcement officers have body cameras and that they are using them, i appreciate governor making that move for state troopers in indiana but we also have to end chokehold, that is clear and made clear by George Floyds death, thirdly we need to and no knock entry for drug offenses, we can see time and again, the resulting violence in the preventable violence that these caused and those are three areas where i would begin. Victoria spartz. I think we have to always remember the police is very important, if we have a country where we dont have people Second Amendment rights, they will get rid of police and all the criminals on mobs are going to run t the country, but we ned to make sure we have cameras for police officers, we need to have a good criminal Justice System where it allows people to have Second Chances, i actually work on juvenile justicean prevention programs including marion county, christina voted against Second Chances against additional Public Safety she said she supports but when you look at her record she voted against it when she was legislator which hurt her district. She talks about stuff but thats not what her record is, when i say i do, i do care about black lives in this community and for every child to pursue happiness and whichever way that theyev want. Next question from our voter survey, is there racism in america, if so what policies would you support to reduce it. As i mentioned earlier, we have equal rights and dopportunity and we need to provide opportunities for minority communities, we dont have a systematic issue otherwise we have some people that are terrible, you always have bad apples and everything, we need to make sure but intercountry we decide this andr make sure that we dont let the people get away with their own things and get rid of that policy, we need to remember that the president obama would not be a president , it would be a racist country, a lot of people talk about the immigrants but i would not have been in this position to run, this office and people would not support immigrants and females, i sat on real juvenile Justice Reform for the choice to actually be able to pursue their dreams, have good education, Good Opportunity in life and good jobs and provide more tools to do that the every child in america has opportunities to pursue happiness. Christina hale. One of the major time looking for to ensure that people of color, africans americans in particular are able to accumulate wealth and pass it along generationally, we have to be very intentional and strategic about how we address this and there are so many statistics we can look at with incarceration for black males, rates of High School Diploma achievements where we can see, there is so much work to be done, we need the support from the beginning, all people of color to be successful, that will include investments in prek in programs like the individual Development Accounts where people can save money, havent matched and use the funds to open a business or earner credential that will make them be more employable, this is a tremendous problem in the United States that we can no longer kick the can down the road, it is time that this generation takes charge and takes action. Next question what is the greatest threat facing our country today Christina Hale. Certainly during this pandemic, it is healthcare and the economic crisis that is a part of that, i will tell you weve been talking about healthcare a great deal and i had a child at a young age and i worked a whole lot of jobs to put myself through school but i cannot always afford Health Insurance and i remember a day i will had a sore throat and i went to the Doctors Office in the worlds meanes reception wae and she is outing me for not having Health Insurance, remember that moment trying to do the mental math of how immigrant to write this check and if i skip two car payments and maybe i dont buy my book i think this check wont bounce. I just got back out to my car and i cried, what is more scary today is that we had a half a millionha people in just under five weeks during the pandemic lose their jobs or get furloughed and we only added to the number since that time, i think this pandemic has taught everybody that Public Health is in your personal interest in family seem toc be healthy in e economy needs Healthy Families this is a crisis over time and the federal government needs to step up in Congress Needs to dos its job and thats exactly what i plan to work on in washington. Victoria spartz with the greatest threat facing us today. I found a great example coming here, being in a position to run for congress, we are concrete in the American Dream and i think less and less people believe that American Dreams can exist, its hard work and our constitution and thats all you need to be successful in life and we are to recruit politicians but politicians dont deliver results, im not looking for a job, i have a lot of jobs, i look to serve the people if we dont have a healthy debate or discussion is solution, we need to engage, the public needs to engage in the politicians need to step up and deliver real results in Real Solutions because we have a lot of people hurting and i think that is unacceptable to everyone is catering right now to a lot of big special interest for whole of washington to see but the solution needs to be on the ground with the people like to. Expressed supports for immigration what your opinionn border wall. I found someone who is illegal immigrant that took me six years to get my citizenship, i understand the immigration system needs a reform and i also understand and as Milton Freedman said, you cannot have open borders in a welfare state, you have to understand we need to protect the borders, we need to have good integration system that provides ways for people to immigrate legally but secure our borders, National Security issues, and we are going to help people around the world with their freedom to be successful but there will have to beng some country, we will have to protect her people and i think thats a tiry important issue, National Democrats want to serve people from other countries that haveot come here legally but we have issues and need to help our people and then promote this democracy around the world, i think we have to remember that. Christina hale what is your position on immigration and border wall. We need strong borders, my grandmother came hear from cuba as a very little girl with nothing in your pocket either and ive seen how this country helps her to achieve the American Dream and ill tell you we have a number of issuessu including the wall, lets not forget that most people overstay their visas after flying intercountry most of the drugs coming intercountry, from the miles and miles of coastline, i dont believe the wall is a good investment for taxpayers, but we absolutely need immigration reform, all tell you first up we need to stop separating children from their families outer borders, that is not an american value, we can do so much better as a country by these children but we need a pathway to citizenship for our daca students, or dreamers in congress has set together and passed the bipartisan bill, it is time and when i get to congress im going to fight for common sense, Bipartisan Solutions for our immigration problem, it is way overdue. Next question what should be done about foreign interference in our election. Certainly Donald Trumps Administration Every single Intelligence Agency that reports up to him has revealed since 2016 we have had interference in our election from russia and china and other foreign actors in we probably never been so vulnerable, technology is a driver for this weather were leveraging social media platforms, misinformation or even hacking into our election system, i believe the federal government and Congress Needs to make sure secretary of state at the state level have the resources they need to protect the integrity of our election system, this is the United States of america and this is really striking at the heart of our democracy. Victoria spartz. Actions of the democracy i wanted to remind christina eventually under president obama and Vice President biden and all the problems they are talking about, as a state legislature and someone who believes that it has to be more transparent, i am on a bipartisan basis, i have a senator who is a democrat senator and we Work Together in good inputs and how we can have election process so people have to have trust in this, i actually worked with bipartisan basis to torquemada and she wanted this bill for the republican bill, and she talked to almost everyone support, the issue on election that are polarizing issue the consensus and deliver this, that this is important for the american people. Do you believe that climate catastrophe from Global Warming are real and if so what steps should be taken to address this victoria spartz. All of us have to promote good policy for the environment, i think its important for us to remember forro the future of our children but we have to be careful before the National Elite that the Green New Deal wouldea cost 600,000 per household in indiana, it would usdestroy a lot of terrible policies, i saw what happened to that, and to move jobs overseas in the country like china and then we become dependent on the country and the crisis in our supply chain to get some education in the crazy politics we have to promote a Sustainable Energy and christina in the statehouse, the utility committee, she was supported with the industry of raising more flexibility for a different type of energy and thats not what her record is. Christina hale, once again victoria spartz has a theme of destroying my record of misleading voters, this is a very important issue, my heart bleeds for the people on the west coast to have been suffering through these horrible fires or the people in our gulf coast web and experiencing hurricane after hurricane after hurricane the season, we have to do something, i will tell you there is great opportunity for indiana, needs to be at about the fourth least expensive state and were now about 28, 29, thats because their Energy Infrastructures old and aging i worked with sharon, republican representative in the statehouse to bring Greater Transparency to rebuilding our Energy Production infrastructure, it will cost less so the sunshine of what is happening, i will tell you when we do rebuild a retrofit of her old plants, indiana can be at the forefront of the Clean Energy Job that will come with us, indiana can truly lead and once again regain her competitive advantage from our manufacturers and also ensure for example we have some of the dirtiest air quality of any state in the nation that were bringing a healthier environment to the people that live here as well. One question, what legislative if any would you support to encourage renewable energy. Christina hale. I need the support of tax credit, certainly we have seen the Solar Energy Industry as well and it against to thrive, whereas the nation stage of this, it is time to double down and anything in our Energy Portfolio that would allow us to diversify, weve been far too dependent on dirty coal for fare toowe long that we would be able to ensure that not only would we bring good jobs here but more efficient Energy Production that is cleaner to move towards renewables towards 2050. Victoria spartz would you supportri legislation for renewable energy. Its important to have new and Sustainable Energy, to have a lot of talking points and a lot of National Democrats have a lot of talking points, that ise not what the record in the statehouse, they cater to a Water Utility monopolies and some of the Sustainable Energy Solutions Fit in the support, that is interesting for me too see, that is what it is, im not about talking points, we need to promote the energy, we need to have more sustainable sources and biofuels and all of the things that are good for theth environment, and some bad legislation, he was a democrat that couldve been bad for the environment, i thought it was important even though it was in his district, you have these ideas that nancy pelosi hutu christina is promoting and destroying jobs, is going to be tanking our economy in the crazy Green New Deal in new ideas, we have to be careful before weew sign up. This was the number two question ins. Our survey, its pretty simple, what is your top priority victoria spartz. Someone who understands the importance of affordable healthcare, i will be fighting for the people and i thought special interest, i challenge the status quo and work with both parties to deliver reform from the state of indiana, im not just saying that we delivered major reform and it took me two years but i oferstand that 85 healthcare his controlling the federal level and finding money to special Interest Groups and destroying, when they say and is presented to the public, nancy pelosi passed the bill, healthcare has to be fixed because it is issue of middleclass an opportunity for a lot of people and i think that has to be and thats a reason i decided to run for congress in all work with the state of indiana to be a leader in real reform. Christina hale your top priority. My top priority is healthca healthcare, as i mentioned i will try to help you keep private Health Insurance if its working for you and hopefully make it more affordable, all also fight for public option, i just want to remind everybody as well, listening and watching, we have 329,000 people under the age of 65 living in our district with preexisting conditions, victoria was fighting against the Affordable Care act, that could leave these people uncovered in a pandemic and i would also like to remind victoria that she voted to let Insurance Companies off the hook from protecting children from certain preexisting conditions, i dont think they should beon p to protect, we committed to being civil to each other and i think thats what we should do a very different candidate from victoria, the record of working across the aisle, i did pass 60 bills in every single bill had a republican partner working with me and i will never forget that, i appreciate their help, i enjoy working with them, thats exactly how i will approach things in washington as well. Something a little more specific, did the federal government respond appropriately to the coronavirus, Christina Hale. With great regret, i have to say no, it pains me that even now the wearing of a mask can be so politicized when we know it is something that we need to do for each other to keep one another healthy, i believe the federal government had a responsibility to deploy a stockpile of ppe and other equipment such as ventilators that would have stemmed the hotspots. We have plenty of warning and that is clear that the Trump Administration had plenty of warning to begin to fight this but instead we had hospitals, municipalities, states, fighting each other, raising prices, just to get the required ppe and other equipment that we needed to stem the disease, we couldve worked so much smarter and strategically as reliving through a safety net. Of this disease, i hope the Trump Administration soon gets its act together but sadly this weekend it was the third time the cdc had to change their website because they were putting out misinformation, it is time to step up our game. Victoria spartz. I think coronavirus with a lot of discussion on healthcare policy but i gotta clear the record, victoria spartz to guarantee preexisting coverage, she also required transparency from Insurance Companies and she tres not want to stay have a mandate that adds cost to more businesses, she wants to have good choices and hope all preexisting conditions are covered and not have National People with special Interest Groups but actually have it done in a good way in the state of indiana we were able to insure over 400,000 with public options, they still have a job and they are nationalized and nancy pelosi will be running with the healthcare, i believe states can do better and more flexibility and i think its good that President Trump allowing more flexibility for the state but also has to learn how we can better marginalize next time because it can happen, we need to learn how we can engage the private enterprise, how we can deliver this result, its unprecedented thing but we will learn a lot and provide better tools for the state, that responsibility of the state and better jobs and you can see the governor in the state legislature who can give a good check and balance and also how we handle the state of indiana. President trump told journalists that he downplayed t the virus in order of a panic that was a smart move. I think the virus i dont know what peoples opinions are, i think president and that it was a virus in unprecedented the best for the government could help, if you look at the crisis, or government has to think about how it can be more efficient, we used to think about a crisis, shortterm crisis and they gotta develop a mechanism to think about a crisis like a pandemic, happen 100 years ago but we, dont know it can happen again, i think we have to have the better mechanism in the better tools that we will half to have to be more efficient in all this can improve and i think have the ability to look back and have the ability to innovate and with an opportunity and i think sometimes crisis can be an actual opportunity to better integrate and i hope our government will work after the selection and Work Together to deliver results and not have a lot of discussion and debate. Christina hale. People expect clear information and Accurate Information from government particular during a crisis, this is something that we absolutely needed and wouldve helped us to stem the disease and the spread and also so our economy would not have had such a hard hit that we are still experiencing now, i want to remind everybody we hit 200,000 deaths in our country and i mentioned earlier we had half a Million People in indiana reporting for unemployment and justf under fe weeks, had we had the information we needed early on in a clear transparent way and accurate way, we could have prevented so much of this trouble, the anxiety of parents sending kids back to school to pandemic and all of the exponential choices that we have to make, 75 to 85 of our independent restaurants may have to close their doors, this is a serious problem that couldve been so prevented with clear Accurate Information up front from our government and the Trump Administration, that continues to be what wedm need today. Do you support mask mandates and other restrictions during the pandemic and should violators be prosecuted or conversely should officials who order them be prosecuted, Christina Hale. I think back to our response to the polio epidemic in the 1950s when americans stepped up and for the greater good got vaccinated to protect her kids, it took two or three years but we had kids that were dying that had to live life through paralysis after this time, i think we need that spirit once again, i wear a mask, i think is the right thing to do and we should all step up and do our part as good citizens and good americans and wear a mask, but no i dont thinkd that people should be prosecuted, i think we should all do the a right thing and step up and be good humans to one another and stop the spread of the disease. Victoria is first. I think the state of indiana the government said is a good idea to have masks and i think that helps with the prevention and helps the people if they have serious conditions, i think tools that help us get an economy back on track and get us back to control the virus is good but weak cant just put people in jail for this, we need to be realistic, promoting is one thing butti punishing peopl, i worked on criminal Justice Reform to make sure we have lower level of opportunities for Second Chances and we will be putting people in jail for masks, that is different for me and christina because she was proposing in criminal Justice Reform and being able to have Second Chance consistently and i do believe in Second Chances for otheror people. Candidates take a quick breath i would like to take just a moment to inform our viewers that the mission of indiana town hall to restore civil dialogue to indiana politics with Building Trust between voters and membersru of congress the gl is to hold town halls and all nine indiana districts including important issues apart from the election season, now back to our questions, should americans be allowed to own automatic or semi automatic weapons, victoria spartz. Someone who grew up in the country, with government oppression, i have enormous appreciation for the Second Amendment rights and the restriction in the want to make sure that more abiding citizen and prosecute criminals, that we have to value this right, this is a right against safety, this is a right against the puny of the government, if we are not given the Second Amendment rights we will have to get rid of police and have mobs as i said before and they will run the country, my opponent, she is in support of the resolution with the state of indiana which will improve 80 and added to a constitution, that is the difference between a us. Christina hale. I strongly support the Second Amendment and i have to say i have spent so much of my career working with children and youth, we had a School Shooting in our community and the Congressional District in noblesville just a couple of years ago i had so many parents reach out to me and so many kids have reached out to me, they are stresse stressed og to school and thinking this is going to happen to them next, what the question is getting too, what should we do about gun violence in this country and i think their Simple Solutions for example pass a background check, have universal background check, lets make sure violent criminals dont have access to guns, the highcapacity magazines and highcapacity weapons, thats where the high kill count comes from at the schools and workplaces and Domestic Violence situation, also a law thats working in indiana very well, red flag law, protects people from others who could be a danger to themselves or to them, it allows a judge to take the weapon away for two weeks. To keep everyone safe, that is working so well in indiana and we need to extend that federally as well. This is a crisis for our times and all you need to do is talk to the teenagers that you know and listen sincerely to their worry, it is time that we really enacted common sense. A related question, do you think allowing guns to be sold at gun shows without background check should be illegal. Yes i absolutely believe we should close the gun show loophole. Victoria spartz. As related to what christina mentioned, i work with my colleagues and we improve red flag laws in the state of indiana, virtually not all of them are as good as here as the due process but i agree we need to have it from the criminals and make sure that we enforce the laws that we have been protect for the lawabiding citizens and its important for us to do that, i think as soon as the government controlling the people putting everyone in databases, having information for people, its never a good idea and thats how the government suppresses people, its very important but reasonable in the regulations and its actually supported bys both parties. What if anything would you do to reduce the partisan division and d congress, victoria spartz. I think unfortunately, our congress does not have to be committed, we have too many people that are looking for job, do a job, their controlled by their establishment and push the buttons whatever special interest tells them to do and that is a problem, congress has to start delivering results and when congress has to deliver results in any good negotiation, you get people together and get them to the table and both sides is a little bit unhappy but happy enough, they both Work Together to deliver and thats what they did with the statehouse a major reform like healthcare, had bipartisan support on my health care bill, as soon as these people put Congress Push to deliver results with a special interest, they will become much more collaboration and common sense. Christina hale. First you have to stop throwing verbal hand grenades if you want to get things done, i find if you can build personal and professional trust across the aisle, you can get a lot of things done, honestly i would not have gone one bill passed if republicans had not helped me. I served in the overwhelming minority, i know what thats like and i dont believe either party has a monopoly on all the good ideas. I think congress is full of 435 people and there are some rotten apples and Unsung Heroes and a lot of good ideas and im going to look for the people on good ideas on both sides of the ais aisle, i worked with people here in indiana, representative ben, he and i passed along together to keep child predators on physical property or representative, another republican legislator that i worked with to create the earn indiana plan to make Small Businesses and workstudy students have a more productive opportunity at no expense to the taxpayer, there are so many things you can do when you stop bickering and calling names and pointing fingers and stop fighting with people on twitter and you build the trust in you Work Together, i did that in indiana passed 60 bills every single one with a republican partner and thats exactly what i will do in washington. This is from informing to empower survey, voters want to do what is more important, what Party Leaders support or what your constituents support. Is always most important what my constituents support, thats why as a legislator every week during session i would have a meetup, somewhere in the district at a mcdonalds, coffee shop, panera and if i send out a postcard w i would, or i would o on social media and say i would be here between four and 630, we would have the best conversation in the a best bills i passed wee bspired by the people that would show up of both party, no party, independent, people that will never vote, i think it to be enclosed touch with the people that you represent and thats where the member of congress for district, i will have a very strong constituent outreach and support program, that is a priority for me and i think any good representative first needs to be a really good listener and to be very present in the district as well. Victoria spartz Party Leaders or constituents. Theres a very difference between me and christina, i wase not chosen by nancy pelosi and her liberal elites who run for the office, ive been known to the independent legislator who is willing to stand up to challenge the status and establishment of both parties including q my party because thy only serve the people, not the party, not the government but only the people and im willing to fight to deliver the result, im done looking for the job i want to do the job right. I have to set the record straight, i want to be clear, i was elected in a primary with a field of five people and i want to do honor to them, we had a very Civil Democratic primary in our Great Respect for the other four candidates that were in that primary, it was me and i did when but i think there were a number of people that ran a really good race including jennifer and andy, i just want to stop upus for them because ty were greatey candidates. Since i like to respond to that, victorias park, do you care to react. I just want to complain, she was very disappointed strong capable woman who did it pretty good race, i expected the race to be two years ago so i was very upset that nancy pelosi in her private leadership supported christina that is supporting her, i think they like to have it with them that can push the buttons for them, i did not even know that this was a new definition to pass the bill but that is to learn everything, i think its kind of interesting because ive been known in my party to be independent and thats what you need to do and thats what you want in your representative, im not looking for a job i put businesses on hold and my children on hold because our country needs people, not political politician pushing the button for nancy pelosi are her Party Establishment. Victoria, the next question goes to you, as you know its important to understand its important to have strong leaders who are willing to challenge the status quo who are willing to fight for we the people who i will support President Trump. I think its very interesting for me too see that a lot of people talk about politics and a lot of people talk about twitter and everything and i understand, i dont even like to tell you that it distracts you, we have to start looking, who can deliver this policy, President Trump delivered some of the best economies that we had in years, good criminal Justice Reform, he delivered opportunities for a lot of americans to pursue happiness that did not exist before, its important for people to think who is going to fight for the people, who is going to stand up to big political machines, lobbyists and special interest in able to walk the legislatures and im running to be a check and balance and i will challenge if the president is right, i willil tell him, it doesnt matter whos going to be the president , the voters will decide i will challenge democrat or republican president , we need to have strong leaders who can deliver results so we the people have a lot of serious issues that we need to deal with Christina Hale who do you support for president. I support joe biden, i actually think we have far too much fighting, i think americans are really fatigued with the ill tellew cycle and a you ill even take one day were i forget who is president and is everywhere all the time and ive never known an american to be at each others throat, and thanksgiving when you cant even talk to your uncle bob because of politics and i support joe biden and whether i believe he is going to bring back, he can help us come together to make sure and we can move on and have the revision under hiss leadership. What europe position on abortion and what restrictions, who do you place on it, Christina Hale. I was a 19yearold in a bad situation and i remember taking an at home pregnancy test and how scary that was in those boxes lie and they tell you youll get results in five minutes, it does not even take 30 seconds, when i goi the big red , i need five life was forever changed and i am so glad i made the decision to keep my son, it was not easy but i will tell you i do not believe the politicians should be in the Doctors Office with a woman when shes having to make this decision, that is not appropriate and i think we should trust women in difficult situations. Victoria spartz. I grew up in a country where there is no value of life and its very amazing to see the value of life of one born in our country, that is what is very important about our country but we all can agree whether we have prolife or prochoice that it is crazy that we would have a lateterm abortion that we have partial abortion christina supports. This is a very radical idea and we have to make sure that we protect this life, its an important issue and i think christina needs to clear the record. This question to victoria spartz, does money have too much influence in politics and so, what should bee done about. I think unfortunately when government became in money becomes very influential and powerful thats why we have so much special Interest Groups in washington to see incongruence is catering to and the special Interest Groups that are getting a lot of money and a lot of other things, when government gets a serving special interest in everyone else, and start paying attention because if that is our responsibility and stop electing politicians with the political opportunities that are looking for a job but actually people who want to serve and want to go back and actually want to do the job to serve the people ith think that is why people have to be more engaged. Does money have too much influence and politics. Actually it does its an industry unto itself and all americans should be relieved to ensure that we had Greater Transparency and i think theres a number of election reforms and not only do we have to in citizens united, we also have to in gerrymandering, we need denonpartisan groups drawing the maps, we need so many things to support the integrity of ouror election process but i would like to start with my politics and because victoria has brought up the primary and named me in these other accusations she has made, i want to remind everybody there was a big black money group who spent more than half a Million Dollars to support victoria through the primary. That should not be, there will be a lotl of o money spent on te selection, what we need to do is get it out, clean up her act as americans and restore some American Values and transparency to the election process. Final question and it comes fromel our survey, who are your largest donors . Christina hale. Im proud to say i have more than 14000 individual donors in the number of people who have supported me and iwh am proud of the grassroots support and so many people have shown such confidence in me. I will tell you the first donors to give the federal max which is a motion can give anyone or my friend phil, my dearest friend, he is a republican and my friend was a democrat, they both supported me in that way. Victoria spartz. I want to clear the record because christina and i didnt have a handpicked, she did not have to run a real primary and we have to run to 15 people, i actually had to put my money where my mouth is and spend my Financial Resources because i dont want to be hold accountable to anyone except devoted and im not looking for job, i love this country and i believe in our values, this country and i want to get back and i think its important for us to have more people who are willing to step out from the country and go back and i think this is politics now. Just to clarify you or your largest donors. I could to be did my Financial Resources because i believe its important for me too make my case to the people and i am a successful businesswoman and i want to get back to the people. Time for closing statements, the First Closing statement comes fromco republican victoria spartz. Thank you so much for this time. I never thought that i would ever be run into office and someone who came here and through work and determination enter ability to achieve anything in this country whatever we want, im a great example that the American Dream is still well alive in our country. I want toiv make sure that the dream is available to more people in our country and i want to make sure that people value and cherish our ideas and our urguide deals, i think this is a lecture of the choice, do we want to have someone who wished chosen by political establishment and have a political opportunist with a lot of talking points but lets look for the record of someone who actually wants to do this job for you the people, i am not looking for a job, i put a lot on hold, businesses and family, i want to help you the people to deliver the greatness for every family, good jobs, good healthcare, good education and to pursue happiness in whichever way they want. Now closing statement from democrat pristina hale. We really do need problem solvers in washington and people who reach across the aisle ande get things done. That is what i have done as a state legislator here, i passed more than 60 bills every single one with a republican partner and im grateful to themic for that and i have a record of working with anyone and everyone to get things done and im going to take that ethic and attitude and that experience to washington if you give me the chance. And im asking for that chance and im asking respectfully if you would please give me your vote this november. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, candidates.
