Right-hander Trevor Williams is also part of the deal, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman. The trade will become official after once medicals are completed and reviewed, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand tweets. Outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong is the return going to Chicago, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Jayson Stark (Twitter link) initially reported the two sides were making progress on a trade, with the New York Post’s Joel Sherman tweeting that a pitcher might also be involved as part of the negotiations. Reports from earlier indicated that Baez was part of rather extensive trade talks between the Cubs and Mets, as Davies and Kris Bryant were reportedly also on New York’s radar.
