But Daniels supports victims in many ways besides in the courtroom. There was the time the parents of a child victim in a sexual assault case feared the person accused of the crime would flee the state and slip away from justice. Daniels turned to a prosecutor with the parents' concerns. “The prosecutor immediately went to put conditions of bond on the defendant," she said. The parents testified at a hearing, and a judge granted conditions stipulating the defendant couldn't leave the state and can't leave the county without permission, Daniels said. "That was a win, and so they were very grateful," she said. “Even though they have to wait for trial, that gave them a sigh of relief."
