Davidson County downgraded to yellow on statewide COVID county alert system The Dispatch Davidson County has been placed in the lowest level, code yellow, in the county alert system by the North Carolina Health and Human Services due to a significant decrease in the testing positivity rate and the number of new COVID-19 cases. As of March 12, Davidson County had 117 new cases per 100,000 residents in the past 14 days and the positivity rate, which is the percentage of COVID-19 test out of all test given that came back positive, is 5.3 percent.
