Happy Birthday to Robert Earl Keen, who turns 65 today. Keen grew up in Texas and credits his sister for introducing him to music. Two years younger then Robert, she was a champion foosball player, and Keen would accompany her to the Houston bars where she played and soaked up the music. Attending Texas A&M, Keen played guitar and met up with now long time fiddle player Bryan Duckworth. Keen also played with a classmate who went on to a successful career – Lyle Lovett. His first album came in 1984 and featured the first version of one of his signature songs “The Road Goes On Forever”.
