Delhi riots 2020: SC adjourns hearing on Umar Khalid's plea seeking bail in UAPA case for 2 weeks

The Supreme Court has adjourned Umar Khalid's plea for bail in a case linked to the February 2020 northeast Delhi riots for two weeks. Khalid, a former JNU student, was arrested by the Delhi Police in September 2020 for allegedly being a "mastermind" of the riots. The Delhi High Court rejected his bail plea in October 2022. The Supreme Court judge Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra had earlier recused himself from hearing Khalid's petition challenging the High Court's order.
