Biden introduced a proposal in an address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday evening. “Let’s make that provision permanent so their premiums don’t go back up,” the president said. The enhanced premium subsidies would help an estimated 9 million Americans pay for their insurance coverage. If Congress does not act the enhanced premium subsidies will expire in 2023.
