• Rounds 2-3: April 30, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN/ABC, NFL Network) • Rounds 4-7: May 1, noon ET (ESPN/ABC, NFL Network) About the Broncos • General manager: George Paton • Last year’s record: 5-11, fourth place in AFC West Broncos’ needs in the draft Quarterback: The Broncos have made it clear they want to have competition for Lock, who entered the 2020 season largely unopposed for the starting job after a promising finish to his rookie campaign. With Matthew Stafford traded to the Rams, Sam Darnold traded to the Panthers and veteran free-agent options such as Andy Dalton, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Mitchell Trubisky signing elsewhere and Jameis Winston and Cam Newton returning to the Saints and Patriots, respectively, the draft has become the only real way for the Broncos to add someone to push Lock for the starting job. Addressing the position would seem to be on the table with the ninth pick — or possibly even by trading up — and if not, a Day 2 pick is likely necessary to find someone capable of competing right away.
