enemies. >> everybody seems to get along better in space than on earth. there seems to be less politics, and you've got to make it all work. >> that's true. i flew with a russian air force colonel, as you know, and he became a lifelong good friend of mine, and i made several friendships in russia. and that's the way we fliers think of each other. we don't think of each other as you're on this side and i'm on that side. there is a common bond of being a flyer, especially a space flyer, and i felt the same bond when i met the chinese astronauts. >> it's a little star trekky, but it does lead to a lot of scientific discoveries. you said micro gravity environment. you mean an environment where you can do experiments that require an absence of gravity? >> that's correct. zero g is kind of a misnomer. because you never get a perfectly 0 g environment in a spacecraft in orbit.
