no president is trafficking entirely in the realm of truth in the state of the union. i think we're fooling ourselves if we acknowledge that the distance between controlled trump and unscripted trump is greater than the distance with the predecessors like obama and bush. it's greater. it's more difficult if you have just watched trump over time to take a moment like last night, extrapolate from it and say now we have a clear road map to the legislation ahead. we don't. we saw trump at a moment in time. and trump is different at different moments. >> also obviously it's a speech with a lot of promises. yet you have the election calendar coming up in the next year. historically more difficult for presidents you know in the second year to pass legislation. >> yeah, and he didn't make it easier last night because democrat, really, really dislike the speech. the only person doing reaction shots, the only person looked unhappier was melania trump. democrats reacted to this both in realtime and this morning.
