this is cnn ton i'm don lemon. i want to welcome viewers in the united states and around the world. live with the breaking news, 17 people shot to death today. marjory stoneman douglas high school, parkland, florida, five people hospitalized. life threatening condition. ten more non-life threatening. a suspect at 19-year-old former student, in custody. sources say he is talking to investigators, expected to appear in court tomorrow. law enforcement sources are saying that the weapon used to kill those 17 people was an ar-15 style firearm. sources say the suspect pulled the firearm alarm to lure out the students. and then tried to mix into the crowd of students and in an effort to escape. many more details to come throughout the broadcast here tonight on cnn. i want to bring in cnn randi kaye at the scene of the smooth.
