final vote in the coming days after the fbi investigation. we'll double check that. but it is going to happen today, right? >> reporter: yeah. they have agreement across both parties to be able to move forward. this is essentially allowing them to get on to the nomination today so they won't have to have the saturday session, they won't have to come into work tomorrow. they will essentially start everything next week. again, the final vote, the votes that matter, the votes that will dictate whether or not brett kavanaugh have the support, those will not come until mitch mcconnell has 50 senators in his hands or the fbi background investigation comes back to the senate and the undecided senators will make clear it is the latter that's crucial. they need the fbi investigation to come back. the agreement was it will be one week from today when the fbi has to report or sooner. so a week from today is the first time technically if mcconnell believes what he told senators behind closed doors today that they can have a vote that will dictate what goes forward with kavanaugh.
