divisions in this civil war on the kansas gop? >> well, it's funny that you mention the civil war because that's sort of how the state got our inception, right? kansas has always gone back and forth between republican and democratic governors. so we haven't really had any one party hold the governor's office for any terribly long stretch of time. and so this kind of alternating between is something that is very typical for our state. and then, of course, we have a lot of nuance. if you look, it is not so much a republican versus democrat as it is more of a spectrum of individuals who represent just these different areas of the party. >> in terms of the individuals that you represent, your constituents, what's the reaction been from them? >> the reaction from my constituents has been largely very positive. >> and are you concerned that the republican party has been essentially hijacked by more
