president. i think the sense, even there was divides in his own team about the decision to move forward with this meeting, the sense from the president and his top advisers was, this relationship is at a point right now where you can't hurt it by sitting down with president putin, particularly at this early stage. particularly given just how dramatically different the approach is than from his predecessor. laying out the areas we have been talking about over the course of the last several days, where they believe they can work together, where there are clear red lines and the overarching view or per speperspective, i b they believe there's value to that. they are clear eyed. they don't have expectations that president putin will change his views and actions when it comes to human rights. the same with his views and actions when it comes to ukraine and crimea. they are intrigued to see what can come from an expert dialogue on the cybersecurity side of things. when you talk to officials heading into this and listen to
