industry is still giving campaign contributions and lobbying and using the revolving door to try to twist the political systems here in the u.s. and elsewhere to do their bidding. and we just got to stop doing that. as for what individuals can do, become active as a citizen in our democracy, regardless of what political party you're in. by the way, a majority of republicans now favor bold action to solve the climate crisis. but the lobbyists have too many of the elected officials in congress in a hammer lock, threatening them if they don't do what the polluters tell them to do, then they'll fund a primary opponent for them in these gerry mgerrymandered districts and run them out of office. but the answer for this is for enough people in both mrit s political parties, independents included, to put the pressure
