that perhaps this process, this rescue operation was being stretched out for political reasons it might be able to happen earlier. that is clearly not the case. we see last-minute adjustments with basic tools with hammers and wrenches and much of the physical labor being done by hand. hoist the miners to history. earlier we saw escape shaft itself with that cable being lowered down there. likely some more adjustments need to be made to the capsule to make it go up and down more smoothly. not a straight path and not a lot of give room between the capsule and shaft itself. a couple of inches on either side. obviously not ready to go yet. expected to begin a couple hours from now but still some problems. engineers there working in this cold, desert night now to make sure things go well. >> shepard: i know we have translater throughout the night. as far as we can tell, they have got a plan to get the first person up around 10:00 local
